Secret Garden

I spent a good majority of yesterday hanging these pretty little fellas. Being more thoughtful about how we're going to decorate this space has caused us to move at a slower pace, but has given us a more purposeful result. I'm especially looking forward to this little corner when winter comes our way, and we can have our own secret garden to add a bit of green to our lives during the cold, dreary days. Since day one, I've wanted to fill every nook and cranny of this place with plants galore. And it's happening. Slowly but surely, it's happening. I envision when I grow old I won't be one with a shelf full of knickknacks or dozens of cats, but instead have a hundred plants in every room. Or I can skip that phase and just follow my lifelong dream of living in a tree house. A girl can dream, can't she?

  12. This is so great, Kinsey! I don't have the green thumb that my mom does, but we're lucky to live in a home with heaps of natural light, so our plants tend to thrive regardless. I find the energy they bring into the home to be so uplifting, particularly during the long winter months (we live on the west coast of BC, so it's not uncommon to have ten months of rain...). I love, too, the eclectic mix of hanging planters! Lovely!

  20. I love this idea, especially the fact about the "secret garden" in the long, cold, snowy winters. Winter snow is beautiful but our midwest winters can feel like they drag on forever! What a great way to remember that blooming trees and beautiful flowers will be coming soon!

  21. These look lovely! I just made a few macrame planters and hung them on the porch of my new home, and they're so comforting. I am wondering though, will water leak from them and cause damage in your bedroom? I'm thinking of moving my plants inside when the winter months come, and I'd like to avoid any damage. :)
