You know those moments when you're doing laundry and find $20.00 in the pocket? Or that time you put on a coat for the first time that winter and find the missing glove you thought you had lost? That's how I felt this morning about these photos. I had completely forgotten about taking these on the top of Twin Peaks right at sunrise during my visit to San Francisco a few weeks ago.
This sunrise trip was a bit of a whim. The night before, I had shot an engagement session and asked the couple if they knew of any good spots to watch the sunrise. After discussing a few different spots, they said Twin Peaks would probably be incredible but admitted they hadn't actually been themselves. So naturally, we all decided to go together the next morning. Once again, I'm counting my blessings to have such incredible clients. Clients that pick you up at 5:45 am to watch the sunrise, despite the fact that they have to be at work in just a few hours. Clients that you meet just the day before, and the next day you can call new friends. Photography has a way of doing that to people. Bringing together complete strangers who live thousands of miles apart, and experiencing something as beautiful as this within 24 hours of knowing one another. Maybe I read into everything a little bit more than one should. I just can't (and never will) get over the fact of how far kindness, boldness, and a love for the beautiful mundane can take you in life.
