I found this pretty crocheted blanket at a thrift store last week and decided to turn it into this top. I used the basic steps of the Simple Shirt DIY I posted a few weeks ago.
I simply folded the blanket in half and hand stitched the sides, leaving an arm hole on each side. Then I cut out a neck hole and hand stitched the end of each piece of yarn so that it wouldn't fray. I do suggest cutting the neck hole smaller than you want the end result to be since it will stretch almost twice the size once it's cut, due to the type of material.
Hope this sparks a bit of inspiration for you to create your own crocheted top. You can find countless blankets like this at almost any thrift store. Just keep your eyes open! Happy Tuesday, friends.
