Blog Hiatus; Coming to an End.

It's no secret that I've taken a hiatus from the blog world. To be quite honest, I had lost the passion to blog, and it felt like another thing on the forever long to-do list rather than a place to share, inspire and be inspired, and connect with other bloggers. When I first started blogging, there was a big boom in the blog world. It seemed like new bloggers began popping up left and right, and I'll admit that I'm guilty of caving under the pressure of constantly feeling the need to create new and relevant content, whether I enjoyed posting about it or not. Because of this, I felt burned out.

One of the biggest things I've focused on this year is balance. Balance in my work, lifestyle, hobbies, relationships, goals, dreams, and the power behind saying "no". Because of this, I felt the need to pull back from blogging. One, because it was causing unnecessary stress in my life. Two, because my passions were directed elsewhere, and I felt the need to follow my heart and put blogging on the back burner. For awhile I considering moving on entirely, bringing this web space to a close.

With all that being said, the last few months I've really missed blogging. Blogging for myself and what I'm currently interested in. Blogging to create community and to feel inspired by people all across the globe. I've thought long and hard about what I want to happen next with Sincerely, Kinsey, and I've narrowed it down to a few select things.

Empowering Women.
Before becoming a full time photographer, I was headed for a career in psychology, primarily focused on the health and empowerment of women. This is something near and dear to my heart but felt restricted in talking about this subject on a blog that has been labeled as DIY. But I'm realizing that this space is MY space. And that, more likely than not, all of us could use (and probably are hungry for), honest, vulnerable, connected relationships with other women. Relationships that empower us to be our best selves, and hold each other close when we aren't. As a result, I plan to share many more posts with articles, podcasts, inspiring quotes, stories and personal experiences ( < even typing that feels terrifying) that empower women to be fully known and fully loved.

Fashion.
Fashion has always been something I've loved and a favorite part of blogging. There is something about putting on an outfit that feels like it represents you that is such a boost of confidence. This is solely for my personal enjoyment. and I hope that others can be inspired and share their online fashion journeys as well.

Lifestyle.
An online diary of sorts; something to document this season of life. Whether photos from road trips, or the simple day-to-day moments. It feels silly to say as a twenty-four year old, but this is most definitely my favorite stage of life thus far. And honestly (and probably because of) the most vulnerable and authentic stage of life I've experienced.

Photography.
Every now and then I will share some photography work that I'm really proud to put my name on. These will most likely be few and far between with most of my work being available to preview on my photography website.

I'm looking forward to diving back into the blogging world. I've taken away the expectations and pressures of it all and simply desire to share. If you'd like to join and read along, I welcome you with open arms. All my love. - K

  2. I am so happy for you kins. Your heart for women is beautiful and I know you will inspire people in a new way. I am so glad to see your blogging world finally catching up with your personal growth instead of ridding of it completely! You have a lot to offer online, you're going to kill it. (Like always).

    love you

  6. I'm glad you decided not to bring this space to a close. I'm not actually a DIY person but I always come back for your stunning photography and genuine words. No matter what route you take this space I'll continue checking in :)

  7. I'm with the "do what you want with your space" crowd. A hobby shouldn't become a pain in the butt and constantly creating is draining - especially if it's not your actual job. I can't wait to see all the different things you come up with, because I honestly would rather see an online journal of someone's varied life than a blog dedicated to just one thing. Good luck.

  8. Hi Kinsey,

I noticed for awhile now that you had been cutting back on your blog posts but I just figured that you didn't want to be a slave to your blog. I think your new blog plan is really healthy. I love how honest and forthright your blog is and I always look forward to reading it or enjoying your gorgeous photography. The sunflower pictures make me swoon! I love that your making changes to your blog and I can't wait to see how it goes but with no added pressure. Just a reader who enjoys someone as sincere as you. Best of luck with the beautiful changes! :-)

  10. Good for you. Interestingly the things you listed- empowering women, travel/lifestyle, photography, and fashion- are why I began following along in the first place :)

  11. It's probably been a VERY long time since I have commented but I'm so glad you haven't decided to quit blogging for good. YOU are a huge inspiration in everything you do.... from DIY's, photography, Laeda and your inspirational words. You are one of the first bloggers I started following years ago and I just admire what an ambitious person you are. I love following to see what beautiful things you add to the world. ... Sarah S.

  18. Blogging does get somewhat pedantic, especially when life gets the better of you. Its the quickest thing to drop, but I'm glad you're back and have refocused your blog and its purpose.

  19. I'm glad you are back, I've missed you. I'm so sorry you felt that way, but in the other hand, "dark" times like this are good (well, at least after you've past them), because thanks to them we grow and we take a step back to see what's wrong, to then refocus in what really matters. You are so strong, and let me tell you that that is exactly why I love your blog, because your photos and your words touch my heart and inspire me, and because we can see through that the amazing person that you are.
