Something I can't get my mind off of lately.

"How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you."

What truth and power this haunting statement holds. A constant reminder to bring life and joy to those we encounter. To remember life isn't meant to be fair, and sometimes it's not about us. That the words we speak always have an effect and consequence, and we hold the power in deciding if it's a good one or a bad one.

p.s. My darling friend, Jessica, made this incredible kimono cardigan, and I'm in love. Be sure to check out her shop for more designs!

  4. Hi, Kinsey, lovely post, I also heard that statement, and I actually happened to experience both : '+' and '-' effects in view on myself. So had to analyze few things along the way and make some decisions. Whatever experience we happen to encounter in our life turns out to be always a positive one for us in the end. Your photos are so beautiful, the black and white is my favorite. <3 Zhanna, www.stylehenge.com

  5. This post hits home, especially today. These days I've been overwhelmed by the love I feel for those around me, they've always been angels but I realise it more now. I'm so thankful. And also, shameful teenage girl confession, I've always been one to make fun of people in love, but damn! The love I can't freely give to the guy I'm (secretly) infatuated with I want to give everyone I pass by. I love everyone! I do!!! I hope it makes me a little more loveable. But I really just want to give love.

  12. Isn't it amazing how when you're going through something the universe gives you an answer to something? Last night, my husband said he felt like everything I said was a criticism for him. "How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you." Thanks for the reminder.

  15. I think it is amazing how much impact we have on others and what a smile or helping hand can do! we often don't realize that making others happy can be greater joy than caring for our own pleasure x

  16. Kinsey, beautiful photos...beautiful words. This life is so much richer when we spend it serving others. The funny thing is that when we put the interest of others before our own, somehow we are the winners; I think it's because bringing joy to someone else, brings about equal (if not more) joy in our own lives. Thanks for such a valuable reminder.

  22. Just gorgeous! And certainly words to keep in mind more often. I should write that down and stick it to my purse or wallet. It's always good to have this kind of reminder that it's not all about you when life is super hectic and stressful; pulling your brain in a million directions like it has so far this new year. Your posts are always so thoughtful -- thank you a bunch =)
