hometown.

I've been in my hometown for a week now for work, and it's been so nice to be back. Catching up with friends and family and taking time to breathe. Luckily, Josh was able to visit as well, so we've been taking advantage of having some time to visit a few spots we hold dear to our hearts. It's funny how you can be surrounded by memories daily for years, and it's not until you move away and come back to visit that those memories come to life again. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder, I guess. This park is minutes from my parent's home, and I have countless memories of running in the nearby woods, exploring the caves, playing hide and seek, going on one of my very first dates (ever!), finding a box of abandoned kittens and crying because my parents wouldn't let us keep them, too many barbecues, one of my first photo shoots, and the list goes on and on. I hope to take our own children here one of these days; showing them old photos and sharing old memories, and of course, making new ones.

I found the photo below in my old bedroom that was taken at this very park. My how time flies. (p.s. I'm encouraging my brother to prod the snapping turtle with the stick. I'm a good little sister).
