I purchased the VSCO Film 04 presets yesterday and decided I'd give em' a go and edit some of my favorite images from our travels the past year. These photos include India, San Diego, Chicago, and various places through Arizona and Colorado. This pack is full of high contrast, vibrant presets which I've really enjoyed using on landscape shots. For most of these images, after applying the preset I adjusted the contrast and exposure, as well as adding the Fade +++.

You can purchase the VSCO Film 04 here

  1. Such beautiful work, Kinsey! To help with your decision between the B&W and color image, I absolutely adore the colored image. I feel as though it tells a much better story than the black and white. You can almost feel the subject's emotions and the colors that the sunset paints is beyond beautiful behind the silhouettes. Stunning post!

  5. Oh Kinsey these are truly breathtaking! And to the b&w vs color image, I love the color one most, the sunset is too good to pass up :) I remember a photography q&a post you did awhile ago where you mentioned VSCO, and I looked it up, and just now again, I don't mean to sound totally clueless, but.. what exactly is it? Again, incredible photos!

    1. Hi Juliette!

The VSCO Presets can be used on both Photoshop and Lightroom. Think of it as how you might use a filter on a phone photo app, but instead on your computer with a lot more presets and more fine tuning options. It's also a great way to create consistency with the editing of your photos and a great way to get a specific look for your brand.

Thank you for such a sweet compliment!

      Kinsey

  11. Hey lady! I've been saving up to purchase two of the VSCO sets (I have none right now), & I was wondering if you'd recommend your favorite? It'd be so greatly appreciated!

    1. I have both the Film 01 and 04 now. I haven't tried out the 02 or 03, but from reviews I've read I think 01 would still be my favorite. I use it on all of my portrait shots, which is primarily what I shoot. I would look into reviews from others who have tried all four (I'm sure you could find that via Google!) and compare the reviews to see what fits your style as well as what you primarily shoot. :)

  17. how do these work exactly, are they edits you do on the computer?

    1. They are presets used through either Photoshop or Lightroom. Similar to how you might use a filter on a phone photo app, with a lot higher quality and more fine tuning options!
