Roller Coaster.

I'm on the home stretch of my summer wedding season. I have one last wedding this weekend, and then I'm off the wedding market until September. The past two months have been a roller coaster. An amazing, fun, adventure filled, let's-do-that-again, type roller coaster. Over the course of seven weeks, I'll have photographed nine weddings. This is the most in that length of time that I've ever shot, so I went into this season blindly. Let me tell you, it's been incredible. I'd be lying if I had said that I wasn't a little nervous initially, but now having experienced it, I can't wait to do it again next year. Bring it on, 2014. I ain't scared of you.

For the next few weeks, I'm going to be editing, editing, editing, editing. And then some more editing. It's seasons like this that make me appreciate my home and those little things that make life a little sweeter. Like good music, lots of coffee, clean sheets, phone calls from home, hammock naps, and walks by the lake. I've found, at least for me, in busy seasons you HAVE to take care of yourself mentally. That sometimes taking the night off, sleeping in, crafting for pure enjoyment, etc. might at first feel like it's putting you more behind schedule, when really those things help keep your spirit up, keeping work fresh and passion filled.

Speaking of good music, I'm in need of some new tunes. I tend to lean more towards folk music, but I'm no music snob. I like it all. So if you have any good suggests, please send them my way!

It's called Partita by Caroline Shaw (for 8 singers). It won her the Pulitzer and just makes my heart ache with happiness. Here's a link >>> http://carolineshaw.com/o/hear/partita/ Hope you like it!!!

I saw him a few years ago live, and he did not disappoint. Congrats on getting through wedding season! You deserve some relaxation time:)
