Restoration.

Today I haven't left the house. Not only is it the first time I've spent the whole day at home since we've moved into our new space, but it's the first day I've stayed home all day the entire year. I'm currently rotating between editing 6 photo shoots, enjoying the natural light coming through the window, and the sounds and smells of summer coming from outside. I enjoy having such a busy lifestyle. The "go, go, go" mentality is the way I function best and I wouldn't be happier any other way. But sometimes the most enjoyable thing to do is really to do nothing at all.

Thankful for the slow days in such a hectic season of our lives. They are cherished and taken full advantage of.

  1. Six shoots?! I'm struggling to edit the one I've got on my desk now. Such is motherhood, though. I like busy life too!

  2. Totally in the restoration season right now too. It's important to not feel guilty for being tired. Rest is productive. I'm a busy-body too, so I need to remind myself that all the time! Rest is productive.

  8. I'm the same way. Go-go-go is a must for me. But days like theses are always necessary. Just wanted to share I read an interview your darling hubby gave to a colleague of mine recently. I absolutely loved reading that you are his inspiration and motivation. You got yourself a good man. :)

  9. I didn't leave the house today at all either, and its also the first day I've done this in months, maybe a year! The outdoors kept calling me but it felt good to just stay in, relax, and catch up on things.

  12. I so agree! I am so used to the non-stop lifestyle that I often find it hard to let my mind rest and truly relax. But it's definitely something we need from time to time.

  15. I totally know how you feel... being busy is wonderful but relaxation is key! Love that you added "Such Great Heights" to your post- it's one of my favorite chill songs to listen to in bed!

  16. I love that even you can make a picture of a bed and window look absolutely stunning. I am glad you were able to enjoy a day "in." I prefer to go and go, but sometimes those days in are just what we need. :)
