Four Piece Circle Scarf DIY

Scarves have been my go to accessory this season. Partially because it's cold, but most mostly because they can be a huge statement piece for the simplest of outfits. Today I created a circle scarf with four different fabrics. It's fun because while it's not too bulky, it brings a lot of character and pop. Here's how it's done...

Supplies: scissors, sewing machine, and four different types of fabric, all 1/3x1 yard in size.

For fabrics, I used a dark blue light cotton, a tan jersey, lace, and a light cotton floral fabric. You'll want to find fabrics that are thin, soft, and not stiff at all. Begin by taking each piece (1/3x1 yard) and pairing them up. I paired the dark blue with the lace and the tan with the floral. With the outsides facing in, stitch the sides together, leaving the ends open. This will give you two separate tubes.

Next, place one of the tubes you just created inside of the other one (it doesn't matter which one) with the outside facing inward. On one side, stitch the ends together.

Lastly, repeat this step on the other side, but leave a small gap, roughly three inches wide. Pull the entire scarf through this gap. Once the entire scarf is facing right side out, hand stitch the gap so that the scarf is completely stitched together.

If you'd like an easier version of this project, try using non fray fabric (jersey knit works great!) and create a two tone scarf by hand stitching two pieces together at the ends.

And on that note, TGIF. Have a lovely weekend!
