Soundtrack.

I'm realizing more than ever how much more beautiful life is when you accompany it with a soundtrack. Everything becomes more alive, raw, and delicate. You notice the little things that might have slipped by if you hadn't been looking for them. If you haven't already, create a new soundtrack (I suggest adding Eric Whitacre, Sigur Ros, + Penguin Cafe Orchestra to the mix) and drive your normal, everyday routine. You'd be surprised at how beautiful and noteworthy everyday life really is.

If you didn't assume from the above, today has been a little on the emotional (< the good kind) and sentimental side. Hope your Monday was just as lovely.

  7. Music makes the mundane that much more eventful. What's more that same music will always bring up memories of that day if it's memorable. I totally agree :)

  12. I've always loved movie soundtracks. I like playing them in the car and pretending I'm being filmed as I run errands and stuff. :) It does make a person think to appreciate small things.

  16. mmhmmm that's the beauty of music! It can make just about anything better... my favorite big difference from music is when washing the dishes or doing homework... it makes the menial, mundane tasks so much more bearable, and moreover significant. so thanks for that reminder! I'd recommend the Oh Hello's... currently in love with them.

P.S. you look absolutely gorgeous in these photos!! :)

  29. i SO agree!! i experienced this last night as i was doing something as mundane as putting clean sheets on our bed.. the song that made me feel nostalgic about something so mundane, as we will be moving (to an undetermined destination) in less than a year and it won't be long until our current little abode is a distant memory. i can't imagine my life without music!!

p.s. thank you SO much for introducing First Aid Kit into my life!! hubby and i LOVE them, we really enjoyed listening while we visited Portland recently.. reminds us of our magical drive through the mountains now :)
