Morning Light.

There's something calming, refreshing, and inspiring about morning light. What caught my eye the most about our place when we first moved in were the windows that let light flood the room. Lately I've been taking full advantage of these quiet, summer mornings. Oh summertime, I don't want you to ever end.

Photos details and such:
1 & 2. I've been filling my early mornings with a lot of reading lately. I'm currently reading The Circle Maker, and I've really enjoyed it so far. Plus, Josh and I are reading The Love Dare together, a book challenging couples to love one another with the purest intentions. It seems like we spend more time talking about what we've read than the time spent reading; something I've really come to cherish.
3. Our hole-in-the-wall. Literally. I begged my landlord not to patch it until the next people moved in. He so kindly obliged.
4. I've also been, more or less, doing yoga for the past month or so. I've had back pain for as long as I can remember, waking up some mornings and feeling like I can't breathe because it hurts so badly. It's remarkable how much my back has improved since I've started.
5. Eucalyptus Mint is our summer scent.
6. Petrie finally came home a few days back. He's been having a bit of a rough time warming up to us again and breaking his shy streak, but we're working on it.
7 & 8. Josh has been playing daily lately. I truly cherish that I get to hear him play more than anyone does; a selfish streak I'm not afraid to admit.
9, 10, 11, & 12. This morning we took a ride down the street to the Hub, a local coffee + bike shop, because Josh's bike has been acting up lately. We thought we might as well kill two birds with one stone and get our morning coffee fix as well. It was my first time there, and I have to say I was quite impressed. Two mochas and a bike repair for under $20; I can't argue with that.

It's nice to treat SK as more of a personal blog on occasion. Cataloging important and not-so-important thoughts and events is nice now and again. I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start.

Also, a big thank you to Kara for introducing her readers to Laura Gibson. I haven't been able to stop listening to her since.
p.s. Congratulations, Vivian!

  17. All of these photos are absolutely stunning. I wish I lived in a place with so much rustic charm! I always enjoy it when blogs I read share a bit of their personal lives with the world; seeing your daily adventures and hearing your thoughts on life makes a blog so much more personable and interesting to read! :) I also particularly love the fifth photo. It takes a truly talented photographer to capture emotions and a story into a photograph.

  27. Beautiful photos as always, Kinsey!

Quick question, you mentioned you've been doing yoga and your back is feeling a lot better, what type of yoga have you been doing? And did you go to a yoga studio for it, or have you been doing it yourself at home?
I have horrible back pain as well, especially in the mornings, and I've been considering yoga, but I don't have the nerve to join a class yet.
